My wife was listening to Coast to Coast radio on her way to work last night and this researcher, Ph.D., Henry Pollack (A World Without Ice) stated that money would be better spent on preserving healthy birds than the ones tainted with oil, that only one in five survive. Yes, he also stated that, "...it tears out your heart that so many die."
Anyways, I'm leaving my posted picture up as a horrible reminder to the plight of all God's creatures and that not even 'one' should be left to die. What also angers me is that BP continues to use this highly toxic dispersant (over 220,000 gallons so far) which kills more readily than the crude itself. This chemical makes fish, bird, dolphin and whale sink, thereby hiding the true impact on the wildlife and minimizing the visual image that would be sure to raise 'even more' the ire of public comment.
These people play very dirty... It should NEVER be excused or forgotten.
