A great deal of speculation, discussion and even finger pointing has taken place since the failed VBIED attack at Times Square. As I recall the same happened at Fort Hood with Jihadist Army Major Hasan.
What was notable was that success or failure was a product of the ability or inability of the terrorist and the authorities had almost nothing to do about it. As a point of fact, the bomber nearly got away.
Then came the rationalizations and verbal gymnastics avoid and overlooking anything even remotely connecting Mr. Shahzad to Islam until it was impossible to avoid.
I can almost see the administration on their knees praying to whomever they pray to - "Please let it be an old conservative Christian white guy". I suspect they would have even settled for a conservative Christian black guy. Anything but (gasp) a Muslim jihadist.
America, and truly much of the west, is guilty of two major tactical sins.
One, we quickly forget the historical lessons of the past.
We seem as a nation to quickly forget and become distracted like a child that suddenly sees a butterfly and forgets the book he is reading.
The problem here is that the best indication of future action or performance is past action and performance.
It becomes hard to prepare for what an adversary may bring if you forget what he has already brought to past battles.
Two, we constantly underestimate the adversary.
It is as if we think that anyone who is not a product of a democratic society is somehow less intelligent or capable, although that has been proven to be a false assumption several times since September 2001.

"A much more successful model of waging a jihadist attack on U.S. soil is the case of U.S. Army Maj. Nidal Hasan, who shot and killed 13 people at Fort Hood in Texas in November 2009. Instead of traveling to Yemen or Pakistan for training, which would have aroused suspicion, Maj. Hasan used skills he already possessed and simple means to conduct his attack, something that kept his profile low (although he was under investigation for posting comments online seemingly justifying suicide attacks). Ultimately, Hasan killed more people with a handgun than the recently botched or thwarted attacks involving relatively complicated IEDs..."
The enemy is not as stupid as we would prefer he was.
The enemy sees the various failed bombing attacks;
· the first WTC attack....
· the failed Richard Reid (Shoe Bomber),
· the failed Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab (Crotch Bomber),
· the failed Joel Henry Hinrichs III (OKSU Bomber)
· and the failed Faisal Shahzad (Times Square Bomber).
And he also sees the successful attacks not relying on complicated explosives;
· Mir Aimal Kasi shooting his victims outside CIA,
· Malvo and Mohammed - the successful DC Snipers, the
· various successful Mumbai shooters,
· the spectacularly successful Major Nidal Hasan, and
· the plethora of successful active shooter events through the years.
Put yourself in the enemy's shoes....err, sandals.....which option would YOU pick?
Which offers the easiest implementation, least chance for detection, greatest chance for success - bombs or bullets?
The mass shooting and not the improvised and unsuccessful bomb is the "easy button", and that fact cannot be ignored by us as it will not be overlooked by the enemy.
So what do we do?
1). We must identify who the enemy is. Please go back and peruse the list of events above, both failed and successful. What is the common thread connecting the attackers?
2). Carry your gun everywhere.....a REAL fighting gun....not some sissy "suitable for CCW" 5 shot "self defense gun".
The times are not such that concern over a mugger is the issue anymore.
Carry extra ammo with you.
It is not difficult at all to carry a full sized pistol with a couple of extra magazines. I have done so since 1983.
These are not the times to be seeking political correctness over public safety.
· It is not the time to fear false labels created and assigned by the mass media.
The Israelis learned that lesson long ago.
After all is said and done, it is better to be a live "intolerant racist" (as the MSM would call us) than a dead "co-existing", tolerant "paragon of political correctness".
I suspect that had Shahzad's bomb been successful, lots of tolerant, "co-exist" types would have died right alongside us "intolerant racists".
The times call for careful profiling and suspicious curiosity as well as daily preparation.

As I have tried to keep up with the current events both on cable networks, different types of media, and speaking with candidates for office, I have come to the realization “I DO NOT BELIEVE THERE WILL BE A 2010 ELECTION.
With the administration training 80,000 of the military in Georgia to become his personal police department to be deployed in October, 2010, as well as trying to start a race war between the white and the Spanish communities over illegals in this country, the FEMA camps (even though Beck supposedly debunked them), and doing as they please, not caring what the general population wants.
As the last email I sent out written by a man from Spokane Washington, concerning the liberal buying the votes to make sure they stay in power, the coddling of Islamic terrorists in this country (eric holder would not even say he was against them), proof that islamic terrorists coming in from Mexico and finally the lack of balls by anyone in Congress to tell the Marxist president of this country to go to hell and impeach him. Clinton was impeached over a blowjob in the White House, but yet Obama has bankrupted the country, cost jobs, loved his Islamic brethren to the point of gutting our military, our gutless congress does not even whimper, let alone draw on what spine they have left to call out the ursurper.

You must decide where would be the best place in your area to form a defensive position and after that gather friends and families and formulate a survival plan, how to fight from the shadows, communal living, storage of food, arms, ammunition, water sources and treating for safe consumption, etc.
Ask each person you would invite to think long and carefully, then bring all ideas together to the group.
Some may call me a “Chicken Little”, however, as I see it, We have all been praying for the best, but not really preparing for the worst.
I have turned that philosophy around and am now preparing for the worst before praying for the best. I truly believe the sky is falling and those without shelter from falling debris will end up subjugated.
I am not what you would call an exceptionally brave man, but I for one will not go peacefully nor quietly to any re-education camp, nor be subjugated by a totalitarian government...

Israel says N.Korea shipping WMDs to Syria AFP
JERUSALEM (AFP) - Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Tuesday accused nuclear power North Korea of supplyingSyria with weapons of mass destruction.
Lieberman's office quoted him as telling Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama at a meeting in Tokyo that such activity threatened to destabilise east Asia as well as the Middle East.
"The cooperation between Syria and North Korea is not focused on economic development and growth but rather on weapons of mass destruction" Lieberman said.
In evidence he cited the December 2009 seizure at Bangkok airport of an illicit North Koreanarms shipment which US intelligence said was bound for an unnamed Middle East country.
Lieberman said Syria intended to pass the weapons on to the Lebanese Hezbollah militia and to the Islamic Hamas movement, which rules Gaza and has its political headquarters in Damascus.
"This cooperation endangers stability in both southeast Asia and also in the Middle East and is against all the accepted norms in the international arena," Lieberman was quoted as telling Hatoyama.

Is America Conquered When the American Flag Is 'Offensive'?
Californians were recently confronted with a sobering reality. Students at a large high school in the Morgan Hill district were told by school administrators that American flag tee shirts and other patriotic paraphernalia were not allowed, citing Cinco de Mayo as justification.
Few students at the school probably realize that America provided help to Mexico in expelling the French, whose defeat at the Battle of Puebla is commemorated on May 5. How can American flags be "offensive" on a day that is almost as much American as it is Mexican? Cinco de Mayo is not even celebrated as a national holiday in Mexico. This incident follows Columbus Day's downgrade to "Indigenous People's Day" in some cities in the dying state. While certainly no one is against the idea of cultural celebrations, guests do not get to tell the host to sit down and shut up. This is merely the tip of a very large iceberg stretching deep into the heart of the American Southwest.
Due to immigration policies that cater to U.S. corporations and politicians -- witness the furor over Arizona's new law -- a substantial fifth column has been admitted into the halls of freedom, and they are starting to demand changes. Following the "reconquista" approach favored by many activists, Mexican immigrants have sought to return the American Southwest to Mexico through means of slow and patient occupation.
While not every Mexican immigrant desires the overthrow of the United States government, seventy percent of them say that Mexico comes first in questions of loyalty. Is this the kind of immigration America wants or needs? How can America be a nation if its inhabitants pledge allegiance to another flag? What about when those of Latino birth occupy a majority share of the U.S. population, as is predicted to occur by 2050? This is a problem that needs to be addressed now.
How did America get here?
The Mexico-first attitude dominating political discourse has taken years to cultivate, aided primarily by the deliberate misinformation of groups like Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or the Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA). MEChA has three hundred chapters on college campuses all over the country and demands "restitution for past economic slavery, political exploitation, ethnic and cultural psychological destruction[.]" Here is the short version of the MEChAscreed:
Chicano is our identity; it defines who we are as people. It rejects the notion that we ... should assimilate into the Anglo-American melting pot ... Aztlan was the legendary homeland of the Aztecas ... brutally stolen from a Mexican people marginalized and betrayed by the hostile custodians of the Manifest Destiny.
This is pure, fabricated nonsense. There is not now, nor has there ever been, any such land called "Aztlan." The American Southwest was never ruled by the Aztecs. And Mexico's jurisdiction over these territories lasted a mere ten years, owing in part to the historic Spanish presence.
But MEChA doesn't stop at propaganda.
Miguel Perez, President of Cal-State Northridge's MEChA chapter, said, "The ultimate ideology is the liberation of Aztlan. Communism would be closest. Once Aztlan is established, ethnic cleansing would commence: Non-Chicanos would have to be expelled -- opposition groups would be quashed because you have to keep power."
Compounding this problem is the fact that Mexican schoolchildren are taught from birth that the gringo stole Mexican land. Mexico has even secured the right to propagate these racial myths inAmerican classrooms. The Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles sent nearly 100,000 textbooks to 1,500 schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District in 2006[1].
Far from stealing Mexican land, the United States paid handsomely for the land it acquired, and Mexican President Santa Anna was only too happy to oblige [2]. The consequences of this historical revisionism are alarming: In a June 2002 Zogby International Poll, 58 percent of Mexicans polled agreed that the "territory of the United States Southwest belongs to Mexico."
An invasion is underway, aided by opportunists on both sides of America's political spectrum. In the nineties, President Clinton used immigration as a voter-recruitment tool, naturalizing large numbers of Latinos in order to secure his hold on the White House. The project was spearheaded by now-chief Obama advisor Rahm Emmanuel. Judging from President Obama's response to Arizona's action, we shouldn't expect a change of strategy any time soon.
Both California and Texas hold decisive electoral votes, so now many political leaders must ritualistically seek the blessing of groups like the National Council de La Raza to obtain the Mexican-American vote. When Mexican President Ernst Zedillo spoke to La Raza in 1997 and uttered the words, "I have proudly proclaimed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders," members of La Raza jumped to their feet in thunderous applause.
No longer a fringe concept, there is now substantial political leverage behind those demanding that the American Southwest become Mexican. Not too long ago, politicians in New Mexico debated changing the state's name to "Nuevo Mexico." California Prop 187, a measure denying further state benefits to illegal immigrants, was struck down after a lawsuit initiated by the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) challenged the constitutionality of the proposition.
Constitutionality? For illegal immigrants?
California legislator Art Torres called Prop 187 "the last gasp of white America." The President of LULAC was very direct, saying, "California is going to be a Mexican state. We are going to control all of the institutions. If people don't like it, they should leave." The Mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa, who once chaired the UCLA chapter of MEChA, ran on a slogan of "Los Angeles Today, Alta California Tomorrow."
The Mexican government is encouraging this process of conquest, with former Mexican Consul General José Pescador Osuna remarking, "Even though I am saying this part serious, part joking, I think we are practicing La Reconquista in California." Some U.S. towns have already partially seceded to Mexico. El Cenizo, Texas has declared the town language Spanish, ordered that all business be conducted in Spanish, and has made talking with immigration authorities a firing offense. Mexico's outright invasion of America has taken on some not-so-subtle tones. Mexican military incursions into the U.S. to protect Mexico's drug trade are now frequent. The Department of Homeland Security records 231 since 1996.
Jorge Castaneda, when he was still Mexico's Foreign Minister, remarked before Mexican reporters, "I like very much the metaphor of Gulliver, of ensnarling the giant ... Tying it down with nails, with thread, with 20,000 nets that bog it down: these nets being norms, principles, resolutions, agreements and bilateral, regional, and international covenants."
This is official Mexican policy, yet we respond with Free Trade Agreements and open arms of friendship.
In order to demonstrate our lack of prejudice, we have welcomed enemies into our midst.
America is a generous nation. We're a society of many cultures. We embrace all people, of all races, and offer freedom to all who come with honest intentions. But Americans cannot continue to turn a blind eye to the intentions of our "peaceful" invaders.
Today, there are large numbers of individuals residing in the U.S. who neither consider themselves Americans nor want to become Americans. Some have organized into militant groups whose stated purpose is to overpopulate the southwestern United States and reclaim it for Mexico without firing a shot.
Will we continue to let Mexico dictate to the U.S.? Enough is enough. The time has come to defend ourselves.

NEW YORK, May 6 (UPI) - Osama bin Laden's ex-bodyguard told a New York judge Thursday he would boycott his own trial if he kept getting a cavity search every time he went to court.
Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, a suspected al-Qaida militant accused in the deadly 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Tanzania and Kenya, told U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan the strip searches, which require him to squat and expose his genitals, brought back memories of enhanced interrogation techniques used to extract information from him when he was held in secret prisons run by the CIA from 2004 to 2006, when he was moved to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
"I would not want to come here" and would instead "waive my right" to attend his trial if cavity searches continued, Ghailani told Kaplan.
Kaplan, who told Ghailani his defense against terrorism charges might be harmed if he boycotted his trial, said he would rule on Ghailani's request after hearing from psychologist Katherine Porterfield of the Program for Survivors of Torture at New York's Bellevue Hospital.
Porterfield, who was at a Guantanamo Bay proceeding Thursday, wrote that "nudity serves as a profound 'trigger' for Mr. Ghailani, thrusting him into vivid memories of the interrogation process he endured, as well as a real fear that further maltreatment will occur in the present setting," The New York Times reported.
She said he would be "at risk to be unable to function in a courtroom" if the searches continued.
Ghailani, a Tanzanian, will be the first Guantanamo Bay detainee to be tried in a U.S. civilian court.
He pleaded not guilty to federal conspiracy charges on June 10, 2009.
The bombing attacks organized by al-Qaida killed 224 people and wounded thousands.
Ghailani could face the death penalty.
He later served as a bodyguard for Osama bin Laden, authorities say.

At the root of the proxy war problem is the psyche of the leaders and elites of Pakistan now embodied in the highest command of Pakistan army, considered as the soul of Pakistan. It is like the fabled witch: whose soul lives in a parrot or a maynah. Till that bird is killed the evil soul cannot be subdued. India achieved that goal once but allowed the opportunity to emasculate the Pakistan army through the instrument of Simla Agreement 1972, which made the LoC permanent.
The controls the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Joint Intelligence North (JIN) conducts proxy war in Kashmir and the Joint Intelligence Miscellaneous (JIM) jointly with the JIN and JIX conduct jihad warfare in rest of India.
At present the main tool of operation is the Markaz- ud- Dawa al Irshad, the master terrorist organization located at Muridke near Lahore. The main operational tool of the Markaz and the ISI is Lashkar-e-Taiba and Harkat-ul-Jihad al Islami (HuJI).
The Lashkar-e-Taiba (Army of the Allah) was established by Hafiz Mohammad Ibrahim and Zafar Iqbal in May 1990 under patronage of the ISI. Initially the volunteers were trained in NWFP and Afghanistan. Later the training facilities were shifted by the ISI in PoK. The head quarter of the Lashkar (Markaz-e-Lashkar) is situated at Muridke.
This force, armed to the teeth by Pakistan army, and numbering about 3500 recruits (figure varies) is now totally under control of the ISI and Pakistan army. The Lashkar has not been allowed to mingle with Tehrik-e-Taliban-Pakistan and Al Qaeda factions.
However, the Lashkar is utilized mainly in Indian Kashmir, other parts of India on its own or in tandem with United Jihad Council of Syed Salahuddin and a major faction of the HuJI.
HuJI was formed in 1984 by Fazalur Rehman Khalil and Qari Saifullah Akhtar, as the first Pakistan-based jihadist - Islamic terrorist - outfit to fight alongside the Afghan mujahideens against the USSR. Khalil later broke away to form his own group Harkat-ul-Ansar (HuA), which later emerged as the most feared militant organization in Kashmir.
After the Afghan war this group was reassembled as Harkat-ul-Mujahideen after HuA was banned by the USA. The HuJI was directed by the ISI to export jihad to the Indian state of J & K.
HuJI's footprint was extended to Bangladesh when the Bangladesh unit was established in 1992, with direct assistance from Osama bin Laden. Illyas Kashmiri group of the HuJI is aligned with both Lashkar-e-Taiba and Al Qaeda. Both HuJI and Lashkar are encouraged to expand operation in Chechnya, Dagestan and other parts of the Russian federation.
The United Jihad Council or Muttahida Jihad Council was formed in 1994 of which Hizb-ul-Mujahideen is the largest and dominating component consisting members from Indian Kashmir and Pakistan.
At present the ration of Indian and Pakistani component is 35%-55%. Headquarter of the Council is located near Muzaffarabad and all logistics are supplied by Pakistan army and the ISI.
The member components are: Harakat-ul-Ansar, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen, Al-Jihad, Al-Barq, Al-Badr, Ikhwan-ul-Mussalmin, Tehrik-ul-Mujahideen. Around 1999, as many as fifteen organizations were affiliated with the Council. However, the most important components are Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, Al-Badr and Tehrik-e-Jihad.
Most of these are recognized as terrorist organizations by the US and the UN. The US recently urged Pakistan to eliminate the Lashkar as the high profile attack on Mumbai (26/11) was jointly organized by Pakistan army, ISI, Markaz ud Dawa and the Lashkar. David Coleman Headly Tahawwur Rana now under trial in USA is also connected with Lashkar and Illiyas Kashmiri.
Their links with serving Pakistan army officers have been well established by the US investigators.
Osama bin Laden's Taliban and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan have so far not directly operated in Kashmir.
However, Illyas Kashmiri, a Mirpuri PoK national had joined the Special Services group (SSG), a commando force of Pakistan.
He later, under ISI direction trained the HuJI and the Afghan mujahideen. Later he broke away with the parent body of HuJI and floated his own outfit Brigade 313. It is affiliated to Al Qaeda and he often directs some of the Lashkar operations.
Once he was arrested in India but escaped from jail. Later he was arrested on suspicion of attempt on life of President Musharraf for attack on the Lal Masjid. Kashmiri's force often independently operates in Indian Kashmir and he was one of the masterminds of the 26/11 attack on Mumbai.
