news from watchdogs

Is the Impeachment of Barack Obama Moving Forward?
We have seen it on car bumpers, even on T-shirts and some posters glued along city streets, but until this week serious talk about the impeachment of Barack Obama has mostly been the domain of anti-Obama websites such as FreeRepublic.com, Americanthinker.com, or the very active ImpeachObamaCampaign.com.
Now, all of a sudden, everyone is talking about the possibility of impeaching Barack Obama.
Drudge is writing about it. Sean Hannity is talking about it. Dick Morris is saying that the potential scandal is "enormous.". Karl Rove called it an "extraordinary charge." WorldNetDaily.com wrote that "it could be grounds for impeachment."
What happened? The story surrounding the alleged bribe of Congressman Joe Sestak initially broke way back in February. We wrote about it then, but it never broke out into the mainstream media. But because of activist pressure and the courageous work of California Congressman Darrell Issa the story refused to die.
ImpeachObamaCampaign.com alone has delivered more than 750,000 petitions to Congress in support of impeachment. Make no mistake, patriotic Americans are driving this sudden turn of events. It is a testament to what can happen when patriotic Americans refuse to look the other way, and they make their voices heard in a real and meaningful way.
It didn't hurt that Obama has failed to answer the questions surrounding the attempted bribe of Congressman Joe Sestak.
So did Barack Hussein Obama commit a felony by offering Congressman Joe Sestak a "high ranking" Cabinet position to drop out of the Pennsylvania Senate race against Sen. Arlen Specter?
Let's be clear. The commission of an actual felony is not actually required in order to impeach a sitting president, but if Sestak's allegation is true, and if Barack Hussein Obama's fingerprints are all over this offer, that's a felony, and drawing up Articles of Impeachment against Barack Obama becomes a necessity.
According to Judge Andrew Napolitano with Fox News: "Federal law makes it a felony to offer 'anything of value' to an official of the government in return for a decision in your favor by that official of the government; it is called bribery."
And Congressman Darrell Issa has been relentlessly pushing the matter. He's called on Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the allegation, but Holder is essentially ignoring the request.
Recently, Issa directly challenged Holder: "You don't answer or apparently investigate. ... You're not investigating whether it's a false statement by a member of Congress or a crime by the White House. What are we to do?"
Back in February, Sestak confirmed to Larry Kane, a Philadelphia talk-show host, that the White House dangled a "high ranking" job in front of him to convince him to drop his primary challenge against incumbent Arlen Specter.
Initially, the Obama White House denied the accusation. According to a Fox News report: "White House official told Fox News that Sestak is expected to 'clarify' the allegation."
But Sestak didn't take the hint... he didn't "clarify" the accusation.
He stood by his statement and told Fox News: "I was asked a direct question yesterday and I answered it honestly."
Just prior to the Pennsylvania primary, Issa confronted Holder directly, but Holder refused to comment on the case. When Issa questioned Holder on why he had not responded to his request for a special prosecutor, Holder simply said that he thought he had responded to the request and offered his apologies.
Is it possible that Sestak lied, or that he was simply mistaken?
It seems unlikely as White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs issued the following carefully guarded statement to the press: "I'm told whatever conversations have been had are not problematic" and Gibbs added that the matter was "in the past."
Stonewalling... obstruction... but it's clear by Gibbs' statement that someone made Sestak an offer.
Keeping in mind that only Barack Obama has the authority to appoint an individual to his own Cabinet, the only question that remains is: What did Obama know and when did he know it?
The American people deserve an answer.

Finally, lawmakers to hear 'Bilderberg conspiracy' Author sees opportunity to bring 'shadow government' into mainstream
Once considered a "conspiracy" theory, the secretive story of the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission and Bilderbergs - tycoons worth more than the combined wealth of all Americans - will be told in public before the European Parliament.
Author Daniel Estulin, whose work "The True Story of the Bilderberg Group" has sold millions of copies, has been invited to present an unprecedented speech before the European Parliament in Brussels June 1 on the subject of the secretive cabal.
"This is an opportunity to bring Bilderberg into the mainstream," Estulin said. "A subject that was once considered to be in the domain of conspiracy theories is now being taken very seriously indeed."
Here's your opportunity to get the full report: "The True Story of the Bilderberg Group" by Daniel Estulin
He was invited to speak by Mario Borghezio, Italy's most senior member of the parliament, considered one of the most powerful legislative bodies in the world.
He compared his address there to an invitation to address a joint session of the U.S. Congress, a rare honor for anyone outside the ranks of the government.
Estulin believes the subject of the Bilderbergers never before has seen the light of day in front of such a highly respected audience.
(Story continues below)

His work will be part of a presentation titled "Bilderberg Group - Towards Creation of One World Company Ltd.," which will include the work of Borghezio and British members Nigel Farage and Gerard Batten.
Estulin's book, "The True Story of the Bilderberg Group," is based on years of his work as a Madrid-based journalist and investigative reporter.
He connected the dots between the Bilderberg Group, world events, politicians and corporate tycoons, the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission over a period of 15 years.
Estulin reveals how the web of people and organizations has become a "shadow government whose top priority is to erase the sovereignty of all nation-states and supplant them with global corporate control of their economies under the surveillance of 'an electronic global police state.'"
He reveals that not all members of the group are "bad," explaining that membership is structured like concentric circles, with varying responsibilities and relationships. But it includes almost every famous player in politics and finance, such as George W. Bush, George Soros, George McGovern and Jimmy Carter.
Estulin writes: "This parallel world remains unseen in the daily struggles of most of humanity, but, believe me, it is there: a cesspool of duplicity and lies and double-speak and innuendo and blackmail and bribery. It is a surreal world of double and triple agents, of changing loyalties, of professional psychotic assassins, brainwashed black ops agents, soldiers of fortune and mercenaries, whose primary sources of income are the dirtiest and most despicable government-run subversive missions - the kind that can never be exposed."
He cites David Rockefeller's own admission. Rockefeller, founder of the Trilateral Commission, a Bilderberg member and board member of the CFR, wrote: "Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it."
The Bilderberg Group is an annual, invitation-only conference usually with more than 100 of the globe's most influential leaders, such as heads of state and business tycoons. It always is closed to the public and press, a privacy frequently ensured by armed agents.
The conference this year is scheduled June 3-6 in Sitges, Spain.
WND reported attendance at last year's event included U.S. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner; Larry Summers, the director of the U.S. National Economic Council; Richard Holbrooke, the Obama administration's special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan; World Bank President Robert Zoellick; European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet and European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso.
New invitees in 2009 reportedly included Google Chief Executive Officer Eric Schmidt. Henry Kissinger, a lynchpin of continuity with other secretive internationalist groups including the Council on Foreign Relations and the TrilateralCommission, is a regular attendee as is Wall Street Journal Editor Paul Gigot.
Former British cabinet minister Lord Denis Healey, one of the founders of the group, explained the purpose of the group to Jon Ronson of the Guardian.
"Those of us in Bilderberg felt we couldn't go on forever fighting one another for nothing and killing people and rendering millions homeless," he said. "So we felt that a single community throughout the world would be a good thing."
Estulin reported then his sources told him the main topic of the 2009 agenda was the world economy. He said his sources inside the group told him the movers and shakers would be discussing two options - "either a prolonged, agonizing depression that dooms the world to decades of stagnation, decline, and poverty ... or an intense-but-shorter depression that paves the way for a new sustainable economic world order, with less sovereignty but more efficiency."

/11 Mosque imam tells U.S. media that mosque funds would be raised here, then tells Arab media that mosque will get funding from Muslim countries
A smooth deceiver is caught out. "Foreign mosque money: Arabs to help pay," by Tom Topousis for the New York Post, May 25 (thanks to Twostellas):
The imam behind a proposed mosque and Islamic community center near Ground Zero will turn to Arab and Muslim nations around the world to help finance the estimated $100 million project, he has told a London-based Arabic newspaper.
Plans for the project, a proposed 13-story building at 45 Park Place, has generated enormous controversy among some 9/11 families who say it's too close to Ground Zero.
Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has insisted the project he's spearheading is meant to build bridges between Muslims and other religions, but so far he has not been able to cite any specific sources of funding.
But in an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat, Rauf told the newspaper that funding would come from Muslims in the United States and from overseas.
"Imam Abdul Rauf . . . told Asharq Al-Awsat that the Islamic center will be financed through contributions from Muslims in the US, as well as by donations from Arab and Islamic countries," the newspaper reported.
Rauf did not return a call for comment.
In interviews with US media, Rauf has insisted funds would be raised here.
"We hope to raise it from a combination of gifts from the local Muslim community and perhaps from some combination of bonds or something like that," Rauf told WABC Radio's Aaron Klein last week....

Not since President James Buchanan left America open to secession and civil war in the late 1850s has America suffered a leader so determined to undermine our fundamental interests.(HT: David "Spengler" Goldman)
It was a gala affair on the White House Lawn. The POTUS and The President of Mexico stood behind the podium and delivered addresses of mutual friendship and good will. It seems the two men and their governing apparatuses had something in common to strengthen their bond. They each detested the fact that Arizona had passed legislation requiring that their state law enforcement officials assist in enforcing federal statutes on illegal immigration.
President Obama offered his own assessment. He promised the President of Mexico that Arizona would be in his administration's cross-hairs. Barack Obama addresses Arizona in the manner most US Presidents reserve for North Korea below.
And I want everyone, American and Mexican, to know my administration is taking a very close look at the Arizona law. We're examining any implications, especially for civil rights. Because in the United States of America, no law-abiding person - be they an American citizen, a legal immigrant, or a visitor or tourist from Mexico - should ever be subject to suspicion simply because of what they look like.(HT: National Review)
President Calderon, a foreign leader welcomed to our soil for a diplomatic visit, appears to have left any vestige of diplomatic courtesy back home in Ciudad de Mexico. He tells the US how it should administer its laws under its Constitution below.

But we will retain our firm rejection to criminalize migration so that people that work and provide things to this nation will be treated as criminals. And we oppose firmly the S.B. 1070 Arizona law given its principles that are partial and discriminatory.
Had the Democrats been content to thank him for his advice and limousine his butt out of town, President Calderon's self-serving hypocrisy could be tolerated without a single rousing chorus about the Halls of Montezuma. But Democrats always economize when given the opportunity to get in a cheap shot. The Democratic members of The House of Representatives applauded. They applauded a foreign leader, coming on to our nation's soil, and accusing the government of one of our states of racism.
This was vile. This was despicable. Perhaps the Arizona State legislature looked to Mexico for inspiration when writing their anti-immigration laws. The AP describes the primitive, bigoted, xenophobic natavism rampant in Mexican immigration laws below.
At present, Article 67 of Mexico's Population Law says, "Authorities, whether federal, state or municipal . are required to demand that foreigners prove their legal presence in the country, before attending to any issues." (HT: The Associated Press).
So, if a woman gets raped and forced into prostitution in Mexico, the authorities will worry; once she produces her papers. Rupert Knox, an Amnesty International researcher who specializes in Mexico describes how much fun it is to migrate through Mexico.

"Migrants in Mexico are facing a major human rights crisis leaving them with virtually no access to justice, fearing reprisals and deportation if they complain of abuses," Knox said. Central American migrants are frequently pulled off trains, kidnapped en masse, held at gang hideouts and forced to call relatives in the U.S. to pay off the kidnappers. Such kidnappings affect thousands of migrants each year in Mexico, the report says. Many are beaten, raped or killed in the process.
With all that in mind, I'm relieved to hear that Presidente Calderon is focusing like a laser beam on all those meth-lab sick puppies out in Arizona. So were the Democrats in The House of Representatives. They cheered for President Calderon's disgusting and disingenuous hypocrisy. Andrew McCarthy explains why this was a national catastrophe.
But to be a nation, a People, it has to agree that it has a shared destiny: that its unique culture, core principles, and independence are worth preserving, protecting, and defending. I didn't see a shared destiny during those moments in the People's House Thursday. I saw Democrats cheering for Mexico's attack on Arizona. It was a catastrophe.(HT: National Review).
Yes, a foreign leader came into our borders, stood right next to our President and gratuitously and hypocritically insulted one of our fifty states. The Democrats enjoyed it. The classless, evil, America-hating Democrats stood there and enjoyed it. Democrats cheerwhenever America is insulted. Democrats want the denigration of America.
Somewhere beneath the Parker Griffithesque feel-good rhetoric the typical Democrat has a craven weasel-soul. This craven weasel-soul hates America. President Calderon did our nation a favor. His poisonous lying speech coaxed these roaches into the harsh, unforgiving sunlight.
The Democrats have been revealed for exactly the hate-America-first scum they truly are. This needs to be run in campaign adds in every state, every city, in every county across America. The People need to now which of our two parties stands up and celebrates the shaming of an America state.
